Structural Engineer Role
This position is available at a large Engineering Consultancy, part of a global group of companies operating across 45 countries.
The successful candidate will apply their engineering skills to project design, development and delivery while collaborating with the in-house team to grow their expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Interact with project teams on live projects.
* Adhere to company management systems.
* Create concept designs for various buildings as instructed by Senior Engineers.
* Deliver assigned tasks provided by lead managers.
* Maintain effective time management for efficient delivery within allocated timelines.
* Produce structural calculations for typical structures.
* Conduct self-checks on work and peer reviews prior to submission to senior engineers. Share knowledge with peers under senior approval.
* Support Senior Engineers in developing project timelines upon request.
* Highlight potential project variations to the senior team.
* Attend site visits for inspections and issue reports.
* Issue site inspection reports related to BCAR and aid Senior Engineers in reviewing and signing off inspections.
* Familiarize yourself with important industry standards and typical details.
* Support the team on ongoing projects as a Structural Engineer.
* Develop knowledge on Modular Construction technologies and continued professional development of new systems and industry developments.
* Stay updated on applicable design standards like Eurocodes and actively review relevant standards and guidance.
* Leverage First Principles engineering analysis and proactively learn and research technical information. Provide suitable hand calculations when needed.
* Participate in R&D works where required.
* Develop proficiency in in-house design software, commercial tools, and QA processes.
Requirements for Success
* An honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in Structural Engineering.
* Familiarity with MMC is beneficial but not essential.
* Ability to build positive working relationships within a team.
* Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
