We are seeking an experienced and driven Sous Chef to join our client's team in Co. Kilkenny.
This role is ideal for a culinary professional who is passionate about food and ready to take on a leadership position within a busy and creative kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef in the overall management of the kitchen
* Lead, train, and motivate junior chefs and kitchen staff
* Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality dishes in line with company standards
* Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and service
* Ensure all HACCP, food safety, and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to
* Collaborate on menu planning, costing, and supplier management
* Handle stock control, inventory, and waste management
* Oversee kitchen during service in the absence of the Head Chef
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a Senior Chef de Partie stepping up
* Strong culinary skills and a creative approach to food presentation
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
* Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume kitchen
* Solid understanding of food safety standards and kitchen best practices
* Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
