Kitchen Porter

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter who will work in our Kitchen Department. As Kitchen Porter, you will be required to perform duties requested by the Head Chef. You will be part of a diverse team operating at a fast-paced centre of excellence. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of the Head Chef and management.
Duties:
Be aware of the agreed standards for all kitchen areas
Ensure all crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment are cleaned and stored
You will maintain the hygiene and operational cleanliness levels within all kitchens, storage areas, waste areas and the staff canteen along with back of house areas and staff toilets
Aware of the Health & Safety Regulations and to be compliant with HACCP procedures
Follow all hotel procedures and maintain personal and work hygiene to a high degree
Involved in the maintenance of the kitchen area, sweeping and mopping floors, steam clean bins and empty bins when full etc.
Cleaning and maintaining the delivery and waste areas, including bottle and food waste bins, to a very high standard
Attending or fulfilling all required trainings scheduled by kitchen/hotel management
Ensure equipment in the kitchen department is functioning and report issues with maintenance to your team leader
Organizing kitchens for banqueting events
Ability to assist in the preparation and serving of food when requested
Ensure that the work outlined on the daily cleaning sheets is completed to the highest standard and in the most efficient manner
Ensure that stock levels of the chemical room are maintained
Ensure that the correct chemicals and colour coded cleaning equipment is used correctly
Ensure that all spills/breakages are attended to immediately with the correct equipment and safety signage
Requirements:
Ability to multi-task
Ability of working and carrying out tasks on your own accord without supervision
Confident working in a fast paced environment
Attention to detail
Flexible with regards to hours, including evening work
Good self-presentation.

Fluency of the English language, both verbal and written, is essential
