Job Overview: Shift Managers are responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and coordination of Production employees.
The Shift Manager will manage shift employees to achieve key business objectives of product quality, order fulfilment, OEE, labour efficiency, health and safety, and budget control.
The Shift Manager will also act as cover in the absence of the Plant Manager and support the Plant Manager in Operations as appropriate.
Shift Management: Lead the Shift Team to achieve production targets/KPIs.
Ensure the highest standards of product quality, integrity, and hygiene.
Maintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice.
Monitor and control costs.
Ensure safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors, and visitors.
Ensure that the team is properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality-conscious, and effective way.
Maintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levels.
Ensure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance.
Drive initiatives to maximize employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficiencies.
Liaise with QA & QC, logistics, technical, and maintenance teams to achieve optimum results.
Responsible for Internal Controls as assigned by the Internal Controller.
Interface with HR in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issues.
Update relevant HR systems as required.
General Management: Cover for the Production Manager when absent and support the Production Manager in other areas of production.
Contribute to the overall department performance plan in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation, and Environment.
Drive correct usage, maintenance, and development of all production systems.

Professional Experience & Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in a management/supervisory role in the food manufacturing industry is required.
Third-level qualification in a related field is desirable.
SAP/MES/SCADA experience highly desirable.
A strong understanding of Microsoft Office is required.
Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
