Department Overview
Within Citi’s Services business, the Securities Services Operations Client Implementations Team is a client-facing unit, responsible for ensuring the effective on-boarding of new and incremental Securities Service business – new clients, new funds or new investment markets.
Providing a principal point of contact for the client, the Implementations team delivers project management oversight and co-ordination of legal documentation, service requirements, service delivery, testing, operational readiness and migration to Citi’s Depositary, Custody, Fund Accounting, Middle Office, Transfer Agency and Execution Services platforms.
Team/Position Overview
The SSO Client Implementation Team is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of new custody, funds and fiduciary business for Securities Services Operations. Within this, the Implementation Manager is responsible for the management of complex/critical/multi-product client-facing projects, with accountability for delivery of a range of services across one or more businesses/geographic regions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with client and internal partners (Sales/Client Executive) to understand the client's service needs in order to match them to our delivery capabilities.
* Produce and manage a detailed implementation plan, using standard Citi templates and artefacts.
* Produce a detailed scope and requirements document for agreement by both the client and Citi, to be used as a baseline for implementation.
* Ensure the timely distribution, negotiation, completion and lodgment of client documentation.
* Establish appropriate governance for projects, including cadence of internal and Client meetings to manage the project and underlying workstreams.
* Manage teams with respect to on-time and proper execution of tasks, control and reporting to Senior Management.
* Ensure effective management of initiatives and projects across internal teams, including documentation and tests.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets.
* Brief the operations, customer service and electronic banking teams, as well as product management and other areas as required, and agree implementation timetables with all parties.
* Co-ordinate all aspects of the implementation (Legal Documentation, Operational Documentation, Operational Setups, User Entitlements, Testing, Operational Readiness, Asset Migration and Handover to BAU Service Team) to ensure delivery in accordance with the client's requirements and agreed project plan.
* Ensure appropriate operational readiness and operational sign-offs in advance of transition/launch.
* Conduct post implementation reviews with the client and the Citi units involved to monitor satisfaction and effectiveness.
Experience and Skills:
* A strong understanding of Securities Services and any specific experience in Custody, Funds or Middle Office.
* Strong PM skills, and practical experience delivering Client change via planning, monitoring and reporting using detailed project task lists.
* Good knowledge of PM methodology and applications.
* Must have a proven track record in flawlessly executing client change, delivering multifaceted projects to defined deadlines and constraints.
* Strong senior stakeholder management experience with the ability to manage successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Solid analytical and documentation skills, with evidenced attention to accuracy and detail.
* Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to an array of stakeholder needs.
* Strong risk management skills.
