Recreation Program Specialist – Natural Resources Part-Time 20h/wk Salary: $19,084.00 to $22,266.40/year
Responsibilities:Supports natural resources management and environmental sustainability in southeast Michigan through community outreach.Researches, designs, develops, and implements natural resources and environmental sustainability related outreach materials relevant to southeast Michigan to support the mission of Oakland County Parks and Recreation.Assists higher level staff with scheduling volunteers, maintaining program records, purchasing supplies, and maintaining program budgets.Works with representatives from local communities to develop special events and provide excellent customer service to the general public.Utilizes current natural resources related software, such as ESRI ArcGIS products, to track partner progress and assess benchmarking for partners and collaborative efforts.Requirements:Be 18 years old.Have at least six (6) months of full-time (1040 hours) experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity preferably in a park, recreation and/or program setting; OR have at least six (6) months paid or voluntary experience in leadership for organizations such as civic, philanthropic, school clubs, and/or sports teams.Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out of country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the hire date.Pass the employment physical established for this classification.
