Job Description:
* Develop and manage the annual marketing budget in collaboration with sector managers, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy.
* Monitor expenditure to prevent overspending and provide regular budgetary updates to the Managing Director.
* Evaluate the ROI of marketing initiatives to inform future strategies.
* Oversee B2B and B2C marketing strategies for own brands and supplier brands.
* Lead email marketing campaigns, ensuring effective targeting and engagement.
* Manage the creation and distribution of promotional, merchandising, and catalogue materials.
* Support the design and production of own-brand packaging in collaboration with graphic designers.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of events, from large-scale trade shows to smaller consumer events.
* Manage logistical requirements, including travel, material preparation, and on-site setup.
* Handle administrative tasks related to event organization and post-event evaluations.
* Enhance the company’s digital presence through website management (WordPress), email campaigns, and data-driven strategies using Google Analytics.
* Drive digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth goals.
* Foster relationships with suppliers to align marketing activities with their brand guidelines and objectives.
* Act as a key liaison with internal sector managers to ensure cohesive marketing strategies across all business units.
* Manage and mentor the existing marketing team of two staff, ensuring clear role allocation and professional growth.
* Encourage collaboration and accountability within the team to meet deadlines and objectives.
* Track and evaluate marketing activities, including campaigns, events, and digital initiatives, to measure success and ensure objectives are met.
* Provide regular updates to the Managing Director and sector managers on marketing performance and outcomes.
Key Skills and Competencies:
* Marketing Expertise: Strong understanding of B2B and B2C marketing strategies, with experience in the agricultural and equestrian wholesale sectors preferred.
* Budget Management: Proven ability to create, manage, and report on marketing budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Event Management: Hands-on experience in planning, organizing, and executing trade and consumer events of varying size and scope.
* Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in digital marketing tools, including WordPress, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, and email marketing platforms.
* Creativity and Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
* Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
* Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a marketing role, including budget and team management.
* Experience in agricultural, equestrian, or wholesale industries is highly advantageous.
* Willingness to travel as required for events and supplier meetings.
