Technical Writer – Robotics and Mechatronics
The Autonomous Enterprise and Wafer Fab Sustainability team are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team of Automation Engineers.
Your mission will be to create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for the next generation of physical automation systems (i.e., cobots, mobile robots, overhead transport systems) currently in development for use within ADI’s manufacturing network.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to create and ensure that all documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and user-friendly for both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities and Expectations
* Create, manage, and edit technical documents including user manuals, installation guides, troubleshooting guides, preventative maintenance, and release notes.
* Create material to a standard which makes our products accessible and understandable to our internal and external customers.
* Create and edit graphics and illustrations for technical documents.
* Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and others to gather information and understand the technical aspects of our automation solutions.
* Manage distribution of documents to customers.
* Manage and share technical information with internal teams.
* Ensure that content is consistent with company and industry quality and style standards.
* Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand documentation.
* Ensure all documentation meets industry standards and is consistent with company branding and style guidelines.
* Review and update existing documentation to reflect new features, updates, and changes.
* Create visual aids, such as diagrams, charts, and illustrations, to enhance the understanding of technical content.
* Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve documentation quality and effectiveness.
* Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Related Experience
* Graduate Certificate in technical writing, engineering, or a related field with 3 years minimum of industry experience.
* Ability to understand highly technical information.
* Love of learning and problem-solving.
* Enthusiasm for helping customers and colleagues.
* Demonstrated experience in one or more Content Management Tools.
* Documentation standards and writing guidelines.
* Submission of writing samples during the interview process is encouraged.
Advantageous Skills and Experiences
* Understanding of robotics, automation, and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Experience with video editing software for creating instructional videos.
* Experience with VR for creative and innovative presentation of information.
