Position Summary
The Safety Support Officer enables the day-to-day management of safety, including Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) data and supports the active maintenance and development of the Management System. The Safety Support Officer creates weekly and monthly deliverables in addition to working with members of the Flight Operations, Ground Operations, CAMO and Safety team to improve safety and efficiency throughout the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Supports the Safety and Compliance Director with daily administration of the Safety and FDM efforts to ensure active and timely processing and analysis of safety and flight data for improved flight safety including management of Air Safety Reports, validation of FDM events.
* Performs Learning Reviews, including analysis of digital safety and flight data to determine adverse events, causations, correlations and trends in flight and maintenance operations.
* Prepares safety trending analysis, including charts and reports.
* Compiles and presents safety and FDM data summaries to enhance training, maintenance, flight operations.
* Supports and facilitates Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments and Risk Reviews for Departments.
* Assists in creation of Safety Department publications.
* Oversees the data collection process of aircraft fleet in conjunction with the Maintenance department.
* Support the conduct of Safety Meetings, including taking of minutes.
* Manage the upkeep of the Emergency Response Plan.
* Additional tasks as directed by the Safety and Compliance Director.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, or Safety Management or related degree required, or an equivalent level of industry experience/qualification.
* Previous experience Safety Management in aviation, or equivalent transportation industry similar and relevant experience.
* Familiarity with Safety Management software, including data analysis, trending and data presentation.
Required / Desired Skills
* Able to read and interpret regulations, manuals, and technical procedures, including EASA Regulations.
* Strong written communication skills with the ability to write effective reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
* Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak publicly and present on the individual level, senior management level, and to large audiences, including employees and industry professionals.
* Must be detail oriented with a proven ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
