Join our Retirement line of business as a Life and Pension Paraplanner. This position, reporting to Director – Financial Planning, will provide assistance to the team’s financial advisers. This role will support the financial advisers by providing market research & Advice Report production, client review preparation, answering technical queries and dealing directly with clients on certain queries. Identifying new business opportunities from existing client base. Involvement in bulk project exercises (ETV’s & PIE’s) Also, assisting the Team Lead in further development of the role itself and the Advisory Process.
The Role
* Have an input into the pre-sales process and understanding client objectives and occasionally attend client meetings.
* Occasional Voyant / Cashflow analysis and Financial Planning (e.g. max funding, CET etc.).
* In conjunction with the Financial Advisors, put in place a clear plan of activity in terms of lead generation to actively review clients.
* Assist in executing some business (e.g. protection business, annuities & Approved Minimum Retirement funds) through a desk-based service.
* Ensure the Sales team is fully briefed on all market and product changes on a timely basis.
* Organise ongoing training and product presentations to assist in the Continued Professional Development (CPD) requirements for the team.
* Ensure all relevant procedures are followed to comply with Central Bank regulations & WTW requirements. This will include preparing all new business files for processing by the New Business team.
* Assist in compiling and analysing sales-related reports as required.
* Assist in report generation for Bulk Exercise Projects from the Corporate side.
* Potential to eventually move into a client-facing Advisory role, if desired.
Qualifications
The Requirements
* Minimum experience in and knowledge of the Life & Pensions industry.
* Some experience in a Paraplanner Role would be beneficial, but not essential.
* QFA as a minimum qualification is required. RPA is a plus (achieved or in the process of completing).
* Understanding of Compliance or certification would be beneficial but not required.
* Analytical, with at least a base knowledge of products, business practices and markets.
* Competency with MS Office packages, especially Excel, would be beneficial.
* Strong team player is essential and ability to work under pressure on simultaneous tasks and SLAs.
