Kenny-Whelan is hiring a Procurement Assistant for one of its Global Life Sciences Companies in Limerick.
Profile of the Role:
The Procurement Assistant purchases and assists in the expediting of equipment and services, which involves sourcing, identifying supplies, agreeing on prices/terms, negotiating delivery dates/schedules, and communicating with vendors as well as liaising with on-site business areas.
Description of Duties:
* Assist the Procurement team in implementing procurement plans supporting the Project Procurement Plan and Facility Project plans.
* Analyze quotations and prepare commercial bid analysis with vendor recommendations to site business partners.
* Negotiate and achieve cost reductions and savings with suppliers/contractors for equipment and services.
* Execute PO transactions in SAP & Ariba.
* Expedite Purchase Orders and provide regular status reporting.
* Apply the Vendor Management process for setting up vendors on SAP & Ariba.
* Manage Purchase Orders on SAP.
* Maintain a filing system for Purchase Orders and Vendor Data.
* Provide backup responsibilities in similar Procurement roles as required by the business.
Education:
ØIIPMM Certificate/Degree is an advantage.
IT Systems:
* Advanced MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).
* Previous SAP / Ariba experience is an advantage.
Experience and Requirements:
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with relevant parties.
* Flexibility and the ability to handle multiple requests from across several areas.
* Strong sense of customer focus and teamwork.
* Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative under minimal supervision.
