The role is a permanent, full-time role, located onsite in Listowel, with a requirement to travel and be situated in our Ballybunion office as required. Job Purpose Reporting to the CEO, the Lending Manageris responsible for directing the continued growth and efficient operation of the credit unions lending function. The role is responsible for all aspects of the members loan experience and underwriting and is focused on assessing lending related business opportunities, becoming the face of Listowel Credit Union within the business community. The Lending Manager will lead their team to ensure the highest standards of member satisfaction, while growing the credit unions market share and working with the CEO and the Senior Management Team to execute the strategic plan and goals of Listowel Credit Union. The Lending Manager is responsible for reporting on opportunities for the credit union to diversify its lending base by evolving the credit risk appetite of the organisation. The Lending Manager manages the team within the lending area inclusive of their performance, development and reviews to ensure they deliver the quality of service and support required within their roles. The Lending Manager will always act within the policies as laid down by the Board, the governance and rules of the credit union, the Credit Union Act 1997 (as amended), and any other regulations, guidelines and laws in force. As a control function, this role is accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met, in line with regulatory requirements. Role Requirements A primary degree in business/finance, QFA qualified and hold further qualifications or experience in the field of business development. Strong credit analysis and credit underwriting experience within personal, mortgage and business lending. Minimum of four years of people management experience. Ability to assess, critically evaluate and interpret complex information and to identify key credit risk drivers. Experience working in a credit union or a regulated financial services provider. Possess financial literacy, expert product, service and channel knowledge. Strong communication skills, both oral and written and ability to formulate and present reports. An influencer with a proven ability to support key stakeholders in a collaborative and engaging manner together with an adaptable and member-centric style. Strong computer literacy and knowledge of financial software, office systems. Experience working on other ERP Systems i.e., core banking systems. Self-motivated, energetic & ability to operate on own initiative. Ability to deal with competing priorities and challenging objectives / timelines. Passion for member service and continuous improvement. An understanding of the credit union ethos, rules and regulatory requirements in relation to lending.
