Instrumentation Calibration Technician
Contract Duration/Type: Permanent
Location: Clondalkin
Working Hours: 39 Hours per week
Overview of the role: The Calibration Technician is responsible for executing calibrations of all utilities instrumentation, and where applicable, process/laboratory instrumentation, in the field as per site schedules and procedures.
Day to Day of the Role:
* Execution of calibrations as per site schedule and site procedures, as directed by the Lead Calibration technician.
* Execution of scheduled and unscheduled work orders, where appropriate, as per site schedule and site procedures, as directed by the Lead Calibration technician.
* Troubleshoot problems with instrumentation as necessary and as directed by site supervisors.
* Complete site documentation before and after work tasks, as appropriate.
* Liaise and work with the shift/day maintenance team on all instrumentation calibration issues.
* Liaise with contractors during planned vendor calibrations.
* Participate in the appropriate training.
* Carry out risk assessment of instrumentation calibration steps and ensure these are always kept valid.
* Enter calibration certs onto the site Computerised Calibration Management System, as directed by the Lead Calibration Tech and AI&C engineer.
* All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
* Execution of calibration duties as defined by supervisor on client locations.
* Ability to work under own supervision on client locations while carrying out calibration activities.
* Have a flexible approach to duties as outlined by supervisor.
* Have excellent timekeeping.
Required Skills for the Role:
* At least 6 months technical experience (Essential).
* National Craft Certificate (or equivalent) in appropriate mechanical or electrical discipline or Cert/diploma/degree (or equivalent) in appropriate mechanical or electrical discipline (Essential).
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
* Good documentation skills.
* Building Management Systems (Scada).
* Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems.
* Work within a Computerized Calibration Management System environment.
* Work within a Permit to Work System.
* Computer literate.
* Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills.
* Team player.
* Attention to detail.
* Methodical & analytical approach to work.
* Good problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
* Ability to fault find and troubleshoot Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Pneumatic Systems.
* Good initiative and pro-active attitude in approach to duties.
* Excellent reporting skills.
