Job Description:
The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in driving sales and results by providing exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and overseeing store operations. As an ambassador for the brand, they are responsible for creating a positive shopping experience that meets the functional and emotional needs of customers.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to manage ambiguous situations, and develop strong working relationships with team members. They will also be able to recognize critical issues and take action to resolve them.
Key Responsibilities:
* Elevate In-Store Experience by modeling company values, coaching associates, and responding to customer feedback.
* Maintain DSW store standards, ensuring a positive customer experience.
* Achieve metric-based goals by reviewing daily/weekly/monthly targets and communicating business trends to management.
* Plan and assign tasks throughout the day/week/month, following through on required actions.
* Supervise leads in inventory management activities, including freight receipt, placement, markdown, and MOOS.
* Oversee omni activities, such as Charge/Send, BOPIS/BOSTS, and Delivery.
* Leverage inventory reports to maximize productivity and merchandise presentation.
* Ensure a safe environment for customers and associates, maintaining equipment and supply inventory.
* Perform audits, donations, transfers, mismates, damages, and other related tasks.
* Support the Store Manager in bringing the company's Mission, Vision & Strategy to life in the store.
Requirements:
* 2+ years retail experience
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to manage ambiguous situations and develop strong working relationships
* Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate others
* Availability to meet business needs, including shifts outside traditional hours
* Proficiency in basic computer use, including Microsoft Office
