Graduate Process Improvement Manager - fixed-term contract for 1 year

Amazon’s global last-mile operation is always evolving. As a Process Improvement Manager, you’ll streamline and elevate our processes. You’ll work with management teams to help us meet a number of operational goals, touching on topics including customer service and productivity. This dynamic role offers plenty of opportunities to continue learning every day.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement continuous improvement initiatives designed to innovate the driver experience and make our processes more efficient.
2. Audit processes for compliance and work to close any gaps.
3. Analyse feedback and use data to own and implement process improvements at the site.
4. Work with station management and other stakeholders to identify and solve process-related issues.
A day in the life:
As a Process Improvement Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of making Amazon’s logistics better – which means improving safety, productivity, and quality. Part of your role will involve running observations and audits to identify where processes could be enhanced. Another part of your role will be recommending changes and using your project management and stakeholder management skills to put new processes in place.
You’ll be based at one of our sites and accountable for positively influencing operational efficiency at the site. If needed, you will carry out analysis at other local or national sites. On top of dealing with productivity and safety, you’ll have the opportunity to share best practices and ideas with our EU network. In this role, you’ll use data to drive improvements and continue to grow our shipping capabilities.
About the team:
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ people work with Amazon Flex - a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of cutting-edge vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
Minimum Requirements:
* A degree or equivalent in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Transportation, Economics or relevant technical field.
* Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
* Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
* Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and German.
Preferred qualifications (not required to apply):
* Experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques.
* Experience with supporting tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, MS Excel and MS Access).
