Inspector/Scientific Officer III (Level 5) - General
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the position of Inspector/Scientific Officer III (Level 5) General.
This role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, developing and implementing EPA policies related to environmental protection and enforcement functions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and grow with the agency, with access to a range of training and development opportunities.
About the Role
The key responsibilities of an Inspector/Scientific Officer III (Level 5) General include:
* Processing licence applications and assessing end-of-waste notifications;
* Assessing scientific and technical reports, including environmental impact assessments;
* Monitoring and auditing EPA licensed and unlicensed facilities;
* Liaising with external stakeholders, including the public and other organizations;
* Developing and implementing processes and guidelines for environmental management;
* Undertaking research and preparing reports on environmental incidents and complaints.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science or engineering, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:
* A third-level qualification (NFQ Level 8 or higher) in Science or Engineering;
* Demonstrated experience in gathering and analyzing data, interpreting results, and communicating findings;
* Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems;
* Ability to work and deliver as part of a team to meet objectives;
* A valid Irish/EU driving license.
Desirable requirements include work experience in a regulatory or environment role.

Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per annum
