Job Title: Home Support Worker
We are seeking a caring and kind individual to support our dedicated person-centered community-based Home Support Service. The successful candidate will work with vulnerable service users in the community, providing practical assistance with daily living tasks such as personal care, mobility, nutrition, and medication management.
The Home Support Worker will be responsible for:
* Providing safe and effective care to service users in their own homes
* Assisting with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), including physical assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, dressing, nutrition, hydration, and toileting
* Prompting and supervising the taking of medication
* Assistance with IADLs where outside assistance is necessary
* Exercise and social engagement within and outside the home
* Care for the emotional welfare of the service user
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* QQI Level 5 certification in Health Service Skills or equivalent
* At least 1 year's experience in quality care provision in a nursing home, hospital, day centre, or community setting
* Current Manual Handling & Patient Moving & Handling certification
* Awareness and understanding of regulations and legislation within the Home Support profession
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity, privacy, and autonomy of service users
This is a part-time permanent role, subject to continued funding and successful completion of a 12-month probationary period. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly and may be required to travel to other Clarecare locations. A full clean current driver's licence and use of own vehicle for work purposes is essential for this role.
