Scope Of The Role
The Content Writer will play a crucial role in creating compelling content that drives engagement. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute content that effectively communicates our brand message and value proposition to our target audience. Your copywriting skills will help us build awareness and reinforce our strong relationships with clients, our people, and supply chain.
Mercury’s Marketing and Communications Team is responsible for delivering frequent, high-quality communications across multiple channels, taking a digital-first approach that supports the company’s wider needs by delivering key messages to important stakeholders such as clients, employees, partners, and industry colleagues.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
* Develop and produce high-quality, engaging content for key marketing channels, including website, articles, email campaigns, social media, case studies, and more.
* Implement external and internal communications strategy and annual planning and monitoring success.
* Assist with strategic content planning.
* Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders, group support teams, and project teams to develop innovative communications in support of Mercury’s strategic business objectives, particularly in key areas like project delivery, sustainability, digital transformation, and safety.
* Create and deliver senior leadership profiling opportunities and key project stories through interviews and desk research.
* Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all marketing and communications materials.
* Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to brand guidelines.
* Optimise web content for SEO to improve search engine rankings and drive traffic to our website.
* Monitor and analyse the performance of content, using insights to refine and improve future content strategies.
* Conduct thorough research on industry trends, competitors, and target audience to inform content strategy and ensure relevance and accuracy.
* Liaising with third-party agencies and publication partners.
Essential Criteria For The Role
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B copywriting or content marketing.
* Proven track record of creating compelling and persuasive content for B2B audiences.
* Excellent writing, editing, storytelling, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong research skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex industry topics.
* Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
* Prior experience with internal/employee communications and marketing communications.
* Proven examples of interviews, press releases, article writing, and/or social media content.
* Ability to quickly communicate technical and complex information into clear, user-friendly communications for both a general audience and a specific client and industry community base.
* Ability to work with brand guidelines.
Desirable Criteria
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Social Media Scheduling & Analytics Tools, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
* Willingness to travel.
* Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
* Previous production of case study content.
