Patients Accounts Officer Grade V
Part Time Hours, Permanent Contract.
The Patients Accounts Officer will be responsible initially for the day to day running of the office and staff, private health insurance claims, petty cash and cash book allocation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* To ensure that the Patient Accounts Office is run in an orderly and efficient manner, liaising with the Patient Accounts Manager daily.
* To supervise the work of staff, ensuring all staff are familiar with all tasks performed in the office.
* To provide accurate and timely information to the Patient Accounts Manager and Hospital Management.
* To communicate with relevant internal staff and third parties.
* Processing of VHI & ILH claims from submission to payment.
* Bank lodgements.
* Provide cover for the Patient Accounts Manager's leave and other staff members when required.
* Dealing with patient queries in the office or by phone in a professional manner.
* Cash handling and processing of cash/cheque and lodgements to bank. Ensure all records are updated and balanced daily.
* Organization and smooth running of the Petty Cash function.
* Follow up of outstanding claims with consultants.
* Ensuring all relevant books and records, such as Cash Book, Petty Cash, Patient Accounts and other records are kept up to date.
VHI, Irish Life and other Health agencies:
* Processing VHI payment listing as necessary.
* Submission of VHI & ILH claims.
* Reviewing pended claims, following up with consultants and third parties, copying medical notes to forward to insurers.
Eligibility Criteria Qualifications and/or Experience:
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills to include Word and advanced Excel.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of private health insurance requirements.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
* Knowledge of IPMS & Claimsure IT systems.
