Entegro Group is seeking an experienced and driven ESG Manager to lead and oversee our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives with a strong emphasis on the design and build of fibre telecom networks, data centre, power, in regulated and sensitive environments. You will play a key role in ensuring that all infrastructure projects comply with environmental and heritage regulations, such as those set by local councils, and other statutory bodies.
This role combines strategic ESG leadership with hands-on project integration—ensuring our projects uphold the highest sustainability standards while aligning with complex planning and heritage requirements.
The role is based in our Kilkenny office with a remote working element, and reporting to the Head of PMO.
Responsibilities
1. Developing and implementing ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks that align with Entegro’s values and goals.
2. Conducting thorough ESG assessments and identifying key sustainability risks, opportunities, and performance indicators, across our design and build projects.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG practices across various business functions, including operations, supply chain, human resources, and finance.
4. Develop and manage the sustainability budget, ensuring cost-effective implementation of sustainability initiatives.
5. Monitoring and reporting on ESG performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
6. Engaging with stakeholders, such as county council, local authorities, employees, customers, and communities, to communicate the organization’s sustainability efforts and foster meaningful relationships.
7. Staying updated on emerging ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
8. Develop and execute the company’s sustainability strategy in alignment with global best practices, regulatory frameworks, and business objectives.
9. Define short-term and long-term sustainability goals (including carbon reduction, waste management, energy efficiency, and circular economy practices) and ensure they align with the company’s overall strategy.
10. Lead efforts to reduce carbon emissions across the organization’s operations, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and guide teams to achieve net-zero targets.
11. Oversee energy management, renewable energy sourcing, and environmental footprint reduction initiatives across all business units.
12. Implement waste management and recycling programs, ensuring sustainable practices across all facilities.
13. Monitor local, regional, and international environmental regulations and ensure the company remains compliant with sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI, CDP, SBTi).
14. Manage the preparation of sustainability reports, ensuring transparency in ESG performance and progress toward sustainability targets.
15. Organize and lead internal sustainability awareness programs, workshops, and employee engagement activities.
Skills Required
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management, with a focus on the telecom industry or a similarly complex, regulated sector.
2. Proven track record in developing and executing sustainability strategies and achieving measurable results in carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and resource management.
3. Experience in sustainability reporting (e.g., GRI, CDP, SBTi, TCFD) and familiarity with industry regulations.
4. Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, ESG frameworks, and relevant regulations.
5. Proficiency in conducting ESG assessments, analysing data, and identifying material issues.
6. Ability to develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks tailored to the organization’s objectives and industry.
7. Financial acumen to link sustainability initiatives to business value and articulate the financial implications of ESG practices.
8. Experience in conducting stakeholder engagement and managing relationships with local authorities, regulators, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.
9. Proficient in project management, data analysis, and utilizing ESG-related software tools.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders, influence change, and effectively communicate ESG initiatives.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify sustainability risks, develop actionable strategies, and measure impact.
12. Leadership qualities to drive organizational change, collaborate with diverse teams, and inspire a sustainability-focused culture.
13. Adaptability and resilience to navigate complex and evolving sustainability challenges.
14. Ethical and principled approach to decision-making and a passion for driving positive social and environmental change.
