Job Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Workshop ensuring optimum and consistent labour utilisation, deployment, and job efficiency.
* Manage a team of 10 Technicians in a busy environment.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
* Book in vehicles for service and repair by telephone, email, or in person.
* Generate estimates and invoices.
* Hand over the vehicle to the customer and explain any issues relating to the work or future work required.
* Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.
* Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices.
* Complete relevant service documentation in line with Dealer and Manufacturer requirements.
* Check the level and quality of work through the use of diagnostic equipment and road testing vehicles after work has been carried out.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
* Ideally, but not essentially, a Qualified Mechanic or a person with 3 years’ experience in managing a Vehicle Workshop and a team of Technicians.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Strong computer skills including MS Office; experience with Assetminder would be an advantage.
* HGV / PSV licence is an advantage.
* Team player with the ability to work on their own initiative.
* Be flexible and prepared to work in any required areas.
