It reports directly to a Contracts Manager or Operations Manager. Liaise daily with the Commissioning Manager, Contract Manager, Client site team, Foreman, Project Engineers and specialist sub-contractors. Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of mechanical and electrical installations, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, power distribution, lighting, and other building services systems. Ensure that all M&E works conform to project specifications, standards (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE, IEEE, IEC), and local building codes. Monitor both K&M own installations and those of our subcontractors’ work to ensure quality control and compliance with approved plans and specifications. Testing and Validation: In conjunction with the Commissioning Manager and Project Manager, oversee and coordinate testing and commissioning activities for M&E systems, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and as designed. Review test results and commissioning reports to ensure systems meet functional and performance criteria in conjunction with the Commissioning Manager and Project Manager. Participate in final inspections and handovers with clients, providing input on outstanding quality issues and resolution timelines. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed inspection records, including quality checklists, Inspection Test Plans (ITP) test results, and punch lists. Prepare QA/QC reports highlighting areas of concern, non-conformities, and corrective actions required. Review technical submittals, manufacturer’s literature and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements. Create and populate trackers to record the necessary handover documentation, its delivery progress and status. Implement, monitor and report on the snagging App utilized by the Business. Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve quality issues and ensure smooth project delivery. Provide technical support and advice to construction teams regarding quality control and standards. Participate in QA/QC meetings to discuss progress, issues, and lessons learned. QualificationsTrade or Engineering Background Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within the mechanical and electrical building services sector, with exposure to commercial and industrial projects. Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
