Position Description
ESB wish to recruit a Sourcing Manager to lead a team of Buyers in procuring goods, works and services and achieving best value for money in the value range €5k to €300k. The aim of Group Sourcing Team is to provide a responsive, professional, and commercial service to customers across ESB.
The Sourcing Manager will work closely with the head of Group Sourcing, Category Managers and the other Sourcing Managers to drive process efficiency, automation and high levels of customer service.
This is an excellent career development opportunity for the right candidate, in a key area within the Enterprise Services Procurement Team. The successful candidate will also gain invaluable managerial and leadership experience, as well as being involved in an interesting and varied mix of commercial work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage and assign work to a team of buyers in multi-site locations.
2. Responsible for Training, Development & Performance Management of direct reports.
3. Manage tenders & contracts, including commercial negotiations and debriefing of unsuccessful tenderers for tenders in the value range of €5k to €300k.
4. Work with the Group Sourcing Manager, Category Managers & the other Sourcing Managers to drive process efficiency, standardisation, and high levels of customer service for all Group Sourcing activity.
5. Ensure all procurement processes are compliant with ESB Procurement Policy & Procedures, EU Directives, State Body Guidelines and applicable procurement law.
6. Work closely with Category Managers & Category Buyers to identify areas for spend aggregation and value creation.
7. Manage any projects required by Group Sourcing Manager.
8. Develop close working relationships with internal and external customers.
Experience and Qualifications
1. An appropriate third level qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/other Business studies or equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
3. Good experience and knowledge of SAP (SRM and FMIS).
4. An excellent working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
5. Strong commercial acumen and influencing skills.
6. Good organisational ability and communication skills.
7. A high level of commitment, judgement, and interpersonal skills.
8. Previous change management experience.
Location
This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office, Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.
