Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager - North Dublin Infrastructure Work
Your new organisation is a main construction contractor with a portfolio of works of over €1bn across Ireland and Europe. They are operating across a wide selection of industries and have a dominant presence in Ireland's construction market, including data centres, large scale infrastructure, and a building division covering residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
The Role:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and the construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered while maintaining relationships, maximizing commercial returns, and managing risk.
Selection of duties:
* Liaise with and commercially influence/challenge the other members of the team and the construction process.
* Take ownership for, administer and represent the company in commercial and contractual issues, including but not limited to:
* Preparing tenders, analysing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, and finalising subcontractor orders, financial and commercial management to final account completion.
* Prepare and present forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations.
* Prepare and agree valuations, including generating certificates and invoice/payments.
* Prepare variations with adequate/appropriate records and agree as works progress.
Eligibility Requirements:
* 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Quantity Surveying capacity, across large scale projects valued at €30m+
* Ability to communicate articulately, both verbally and in writing.
* Manage both people and situations sensitively to commercial advantage.
* Commercially inventive and astute.
* Demonstrate ownership and commercial awareness.
* Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Experience mentoring and managing others.
* Able to balance the need to be assertive and pragmatic when dealing with a broad range of stakeholders.

For the right person, this financial package is negotiable. They have flexible budgets in place and may also facilitate hourly/day rate options. On a salary setup, this will be in the €90,000 region, which includes a discretionary bonus and a fully expensed vehicle. You will initially have one day working from home, which will rise to two days after a short period of time. Over time, the organisation would also offer professional and educational development, a company pension, and generous annual leave, up to 30 days per year.
