Beechfield Care Group is currently seeking to recruit a Chef to assume responsibility for the catering of residents at Bethany House Nursing Home, Tyrellspass, Co. Westmeath N91P5P6.

About the Role: 30 hours/3 days per week
The Chef is a key position in the nursing home, responsible for ensuring that residents are provided with a nutritious and varied diet that meets their individual and dietary needs and preferences.
Role Responsibilities
1. Supervision and preparation of the cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals for residents.
2. Providing for special dietary requirements where necessary and taking into account the preferences of individual residents.
3. Consulting with the PIC & Head Chef when planning/costing menus to provide a balanced nutritious diet and making the best use of available fresh foods.
4. Ensuring statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
5. Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Home's Health and Safety, Infection Control and Hygiene policies, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
Role Requirements:
1. Formally trained.
2. Fully certified in HACCP.
3. Trained in modified food as per SALT guidelines.
4. Comply with all Food hygiene regulations.
5. Have a background in the management of a kitchen environment.
6. Fluent in English, speaking & writing.
7. Experience in a Nursing Home/Hospital environment is an advantage.
