Meet the team
RTÉ’s Product Design & UX Team is responsible for the design of digital products such as the RTÉ Player, RTÉ News App, RTÉ Audio App, and RTÉ.ie.
We help to plan, design and support products and services across multiple platforms. We are currently looking to add an experienced UX Designer to our team.
The successful applicant will work to ensure our products are user-focused and best in class. Working closely with other designers, developers, product owners, and collaborating with content creators, editorial and marketing teams you will constantly strive for better product improvements.
Reporting to the Head of Design and UX, you will be part of RTÉ’s Product Design Team improving our users’ experience and services.
About the role:
* Work with other designers/developers to produce great design experiences and deliver user-centred solutions, creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interfaces for web and mobile app experiences
* Design for iOS, Android, Smart TVs, smart speakers, mobile, web and other digital platforms, putting the user first to produce great design experiences
* Demonstrate a clear design process, design rationale and expertly present solutions to clients, colleagues and stakeholders
* Use insights from research, analytics, and business requirements to inform effective design solutions
* Apply your passion for design and eye for detail, strong problem-solving and the ability to think creatively
About you:
* You have a great portfolio, a track record in UI/UX design, app design, responsive design, design systems
* You have familiarity with agile delivery and software development lifecycle methodologies
* Expertise in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other design tools
* Demonstrate attention to detail, sound judgement, ask smart questions and communicate well thought-out solutions
* Flexible, adaptable, receptive to feedback, and who wants to learn
* You enjoy working in a fast-paced and motivated team

This appointment will be made at the Senior Web Designer grade and is being offered on an ongoing contract basis. The salary scale for this grade is from €49,000 to €65,807 gross per annum.
