Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and responsible individual to oversee planning and execution activities for an ongoing EPCI project.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Drive the commissioning organization and preparations to ensure readiness for commissioning.
* Organize commissioning meetings, including:
o Following up on meetings with memos or action lists, including formalities.
o Ensuring actions are followed up and implemented between meetings, holding individuals accountable for their deliveries.
o Encouraging cooperation and working as an intermediary between different teams to optimize solutions and effective implementation.
* Work closely with the commissioning team, comprising engineering and testing organization, to:
o Split the scope into reasonably sized commissioning packages and/or pre-commissioning packages if relevant.
o Update and follow up the plan for testing across locations.
o Plan mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
o Cooperate with procurement to ensure contracts for testing not performed internally are followed up.
* Collaborate with engineering to define procedures ensuring full testing of commissioning in accordance with contract requirements.
* Detailed timelines in cooperation with the planner to ensure timely commissioning of delivery with sufficient float for installation/cable laying, jointing, and termination.
* Participate in engineering meetings and provide clear expectations to engineering regarding expected deliveries from their side.
* Ensure preparation of report documents to be filled out during testing and deliver reports within the required timeline in contracts.
* Follow up on Management of Change processes where variations of agreed scope are needed when relevant.
Sought Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
* An engineering background with at least 10 years' experience in HVDC cable installation and testing.
* Ability to manage multiple interfaces; prior management or leadership experience is preferred.
* Proficiency in English; knowledge of French and Norwegian is advantageous.
The majority of commissioning work is scheduled for 2026, involving on-site visits to Cork and Brest, with preparatory work including document review and logistical planning to be carried out this year.
