Position Overview:
Join our dynamic Marketing Technology (MarTech) team and lead the development and operation of next-generation software platforms to enhance our digital presence across Europe, the Eurasia Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Engineering with a strong technical background and proven leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in software engineering, a passion for innovation, and the ability to inspire and develop a team of engineers.
What You'll Do for Us:
1. Lead the development and support of our consumer-facing capabilities, with a focus on Full Stack Development (Web, API, Mobile, IoT) on both AWS and Azure.
2. Oversee the technical capability roadmap planning and development in alignment with the digital transformation strategy.
3. Manage a portfolio of IT services, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and lifecycle management.
4. Implement agile program/project management policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent and transparent execution across the portfolio.
5. Establish a robust executive communication framework for effective and timely communication of portfolio progress.
6. Drive innovation by monitoring strategic partners, technology, and industry trends to determine potential impact and value to the enterprise.
7. Serve as a coach and mentor within the organization, providing career coaching and direction to team members.
8. Collaborate with internal and external experts to develop strategies for utilizing existing and emerging processes/technologies.
9. Evaluate, schedule, and resource development of projects to ensure timely delivery.
10. Analyze, refine, and implement business requirements and functional design specifications.
11. Ensure compatibility and integration with the enterprise architecture, design and standards.
12. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
13. Foster and develop professional software engineering best practices using tools and methodologies such as Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Deployment, and Source Code Management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. 7+ years of relevant industry and development management experience, including hands-on development and coding.
2. Proven experience in managing the delivery of complex and large-scale solution development initiatives.
3. Deep hands-on experience in the design, development, and deployment of enterprise supporting systems at scale.
4. Expertise in Agile/DevOps operating models and experience in a fast-paced Agile environment.
5. Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to articulate strategic vision and gain alignment at various levels of the organization.
6. Strategic and creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
7. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
8. Experience with ITSM and ITIL 4 foundations.
9. Ability to manage and continuously improve team and vendor SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
10. Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, and C#/.Net.
11. At least one significant cloud certification such as AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect certification or Azure equivalents.
Preferred Skills:
1. MBA or a Master's degree related to Science, Technology, and Data.
2. Experience with large-scale digital transformations involving diverse business portfolios and technology stacks.
3. Expertise in AWS, GCP and/or Azure.
4. Continuous Integration/Delivery experience.
5. Agile certifications and technology certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Adobe, Scrum).
