Job Title: Social Care Worker
Location: Louth Area Disability Service: Adult & Children Disability Residential Service
Hours: 7 x 12 hour shifts over a 14 day period
Salary: €38,000 to €51,000 Depending on Experience, Qualifications and years of service

Role Purpose
The primary objective of this post is to provide care and support through a person-centred approach which meets the practical, physical, and emotional needs of residents with an Intellectual Disability/ABI/Autism.
* Act as a key worker for named Resident where appropriate.
* Provide support to residents with their daily plan.
* Provide support to residents with their individual goals and education.
* Provide support to residents with their living skills, eg. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, family visits etc.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the on-floor duty team, you may also be responsible for coordination of the shift while on duty and for the supervision of other staff under your direction.
Requirements
* Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
* Knowledge of quality assurance practice and their application to service provision.
* Experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
* Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
* Knowledge of both clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
* Knowledge of National Disability Standards (HIQA).
