Site Supervisor (Electrical Engineer) Galway Salary €70K - €80K (DOE) Plus vehicle Civils & Utilties Main Contractor ESB Projects - Electrical Services Installation & Maintenance Our client is a leading Civil Engineering Main Contractor working on a number of framework contracts for Civils & Utilities Projects and are looking to recruit a Site Supervisor (Electrical Engineer) for ESB Framework Projects in Galway. Summary To oversee and manage all aspects of electrical services installation and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, effective communication with stakeholders, and successful project execution. Key Responsibilities: Site Management: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to safety protocols and project specifications. Develop and maintain a comprehensive site visit checklist to document findings and ensure consistency in inspections. Oversee deep digging excavation examinations and perform 3-step pictures and examinations on site to document progress and compliance. Traffic Management: Manage traffic management requests and oversee the development and implementation of traffic management plans (TMP). Coordinate traffic lights switch out requests and ensure compliance with traffic management protocols. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with ESB representatives to facilitate smooth project execution and address any issues that may arise. Coordinate with local councils to obtain necessary permits and approvals, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with residents and company stakeholders regarding project timelines and activities, including letter drops as necessary. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and submit TMP as required for project phases. Perform checks and updates on Folder 1 and Folder 2 documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Update information on the Civil Web app to reflect current project status and milestones. Manage reinstating forms and ensure timely closure of licenses related to project activities. Take and manage onsite pictures to document project phases and compliance. Quality Control and Audits: Measure overheads and conduct audits to verify compliance with technical standards and project requirements. Conduct audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Perform inspections of signage, materials, and plant equipment to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards. Team Leadership and Training: Conduct performance appraisals of crew leaders and crew members, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs. Conduct SMS (Safety Management System) question briefings and oversee deep digging excavation examinations. Facilitate toolbox talks to communicate safety procedures and project updates to onsite personnel. Provide training on SMS questions to crew leaders and monitor daily locations of personnel. Project Coordination: Attend meetings with stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues as necessary. Conduct weekly and full measures of works to track progress and adjust schedules as needed. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as an ESB Supervisor or similar role in electrical services installation and maintenance. Strong understanding of safety protocols, traffic management, and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to lead and motivate teams, conduct training sessions, and perform performance appraisals. Proficiency in using relevant software applications and tools for project management and documentation. Education and Certifications: Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. Relevant certifications in safety management, traffic management, or project management are advantageous. Working Conditions: This role involves frequent site visits and interaction with onsite personnel, requiring flexibility in working hours and occasional travel.
