An opportunity exists for a Demand Planner EU. The role includes supporting the process of deriving a collaborative demand forecast, coordinating with the sales team and providing analytical guidance to ensure forecasts are updated as accurately and timely as possible, predictively planning for customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Regularly analyze historical demand patterns to develop ‘baseline’ statistical forecast predictions.
* Finalize consensus demand through collaboration with partnering functions; Commercial, Product Management & Finance.
* Provide ongoing ‘alerts’ to stakeholders for sales underperforming/exceeding forecasts.
* Monitor forecast accuracy to drive improvements by determining root causes of variations.
* Provide analysis and support in monthly demand reviews with key stakeholders (commercial, product management, finance, etc.) to illustrate forecast performance, risks, and opportunities.
* Generate time-phased supply plans according to established planning and inventory policies.
* Monitor actual and projected stock levels versus target. Highlight variances and drive cross-functional actions as necessary to prevent, minimize, and correct stock exceptions.
* Maintain appropriate safety stock levels to meet targeted goals for on-time customer delivery.
* Adhere to stocking principles, planning rules, SOPs, etc., keeping up with business changes.
* Participate in regular meetings with plant Operations teams to review scheduled production requirements for optimal plant scheduling.
* Lead & actively participate in monthly Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) meetings to guide commercial and financial business decisions based on current and projected supply positions.
* Monitor aging and off-spec finished product and communicate with stakeholders to maximize profitability and prevent obsolete stock.
* Maintain systems master data and planning parameters (e.g., SAP, JDA, etc.).
* Meet regularly with Commercialization Manager, Product Managers, Research & Development, and Quality Assurance to understand the new product pipeline. Provide input to support the transition of products from commercialization to full-scale planning.
* Support the Planning team in efforts to implement enhancements required to adapt to changing business environments, processes, or products.
The Skills You Will Bring to the Team
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
* Prior experience gained in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Prior experience in a SAP environment beneficial.
* Integrated S&OP process experience.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and other third parties, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
* A problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
