Accounts Assistant
We are working with a commercial business in Co Antrim who are actively recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
This is a full-time, office-based role with hours of work from 8.30am to 4.30pm. As part of the finance team, the successful candidate will report to the Management Accountant and work on various tasks including managing the purchase ledger, month-end processes, accruals and prepayments, VAT returns, and management accounts.
Duties:
* Manage the Accounts Payable process by processing supplier invoices, compiling monthly supplier payment runs, and reconciling supplier statements.
* Process interdepartmental invoices and allocate them to cost centres.
* Analyse and prepare employee expenses.
* Prepare and post journals at month end, including accruals and prepayments.
* Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns.
* Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
* Perform stock reconciliations and assist in stock control and reporting.
* Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Requirements:
* The ideal candidate should be qualified AAT or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
* They should have previous experience in preparing management accounts, stock reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Excellent general IT skills, including advanced level experience of Microsoft Excel, are required.
