Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and organised Driver Supervisor to oversee our team of coach drivers. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring safety and compliance, providing training, and upholding high standards of service and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driver Management:
o Supervise the daily activities of coach drivers.
o Conduct regular performance reviews and offer constructive feedback.
o Address driver queries and mediate in resolving any issues.
2. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure drivers comply with company policies, health and safety regulations, and transport laws, including adhering to driver hours and conducting vehicle checks.
o Organise and lead safety briefings and initiatives.
o Monitor driving behaviours using telematics systems and address areas for improvement.
3. Training and Development:
o Conduct training sessions for drivers to develop skills and encourage career progression.
o Lead onboarding programmes for new drivers.
o Stay updated on best industry practices and incorporate them into driver training.
4. Customer Service:
o Ensure drivers maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism.
o Assist in handling customer complaints related to driver conduct or service quality.
o Address and resolve passenger service issues quickly and effectively.
5. Incident Response:
o Respond to driver-related incidents, accidents, or breakdowns, following established protocols.
o Liaise with insurance and relevant departments as required.
o Prepare detailed incident reports for management review.
6. Administrative Duties:
o Produce regular reports on driver performance, route efficiencies, and other operational metrics.
o Assist in managing budgets and controlling operational costs related to drivers.
7. Fleet Coordination:
o Work closely with the maintenance team to coordinate vehicle servicing and repairs.
o Address and follow up on any mechanical issues reported by drivers.
o Ensure vehicles meet safety and cleanliness standards before deployment.
8. Operational Improvement:
o Identify areas for operational enhancement and implement strategies for improved efficiency.
o Contribute to long-term planning and service improvement initiatives.
o Keep abreast of changes in transport regulations and industry standards.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in the transport or logistics sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
* Demonstrable experience managing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Licensing:
* Hold a valid Category D driving licence with no major endorsements.
* Clean driving record.
Education:
* Secondary education required, with further qualifications in Transport, Logistics, CPC Transport Management or Management advantageous.
Knowledge:
* Comprehensive knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry compliance.
* Familiarity with telematics and scheduling software is desirable.

* Customer Orientation: A commitment to excellent customer service and enhancing the passenger experience. Ability to handle customer inquiries professionally.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and transport management systems.

Pay: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
