Position Title: Buyer
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Department: Procurement
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Responsibilities:
* Purchase component parts to fulfill key customer Binding Forecasts and/or P.O.s for Packaged Product.
* Review and analyze inventory on hand, ensuring additional components are placed on order to fulfill customer orders.
* Handle purchasing contracts of larger/significant value or importance.
* Obtain approval for P.O.s in accordance with approval authorization levels prior to placement with supplier.
* E nsure on-time delivery of component parts and communicate any issues with on-time delivery.
* Expedite overdue component purchase orders with vendors to support production and facilities activity.
* Expedite component purchase orders with vendors that are required to fulfill customer orders having less than standard lead time. Effectively communicate cost impact to Business Unit to pass onto customers.
* F acilitate QA to ensure timely release of components.
* R e-plan and reschedule component open orders in reaction to customer changes to quantity or ship date of their orders.
* E nsure approved artwork specifications are sent to vendors at time of order placement.
* S upport with new vendor set up within Salesforce.
* M onitor material status and effectively communicate ppv.
* A cquire and negotiate pricing with vendors.
* M anage and monitor Open Order Book with vendors.
* C oordinate with the Business Units to document any quantity, specification, and due date changes for any customer purchase orders.
* W ork closely with related departments (NPI, PMs, quality, engineering, planning and operations) and provide cross-functional initiatives to improve service levels for both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 2-5 years related experience in purchasing, supply chain, or related field.
* College Level Mathematical Skills
* Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
* Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
* High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
