Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to join their expanding manufacturing organization.
Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace.
* Developing and delivering safety training programs for all employees, including new hires and contractors, to ensure that they are aware of potential hazards and know how to work safely.
* Investigating and reporting any accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine the root cause and identify preventive measures.
* Maintaining accurate records of safety incidents, safety training, and safety inspections, and generating reports as needed.
* Collaborating with managers, supervisors, and employees to identify safety issues and develop strategies to address them.
* Conducting safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises to ensure that employees know how to respond in case of an emergency.
* Coordinating the implementation of safety improvements and ensuring that safety standards are being met.
* Keeping up-to-date with changes to safety regulations and industry best practices and providing guidance to management on how to comply with these changes.
* Overseeing the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
* A minimum of a level 6 in Health and Safety is essential.
* 3 years + experience in EHS ideally in a manufacturing setting.
* Knowledge of food safety within a manufacturing setting is beneficial.
