They will work with the Director of Broking and the wider senior management team in the development and execution of Howden Ireland’s insurer strategy and the co-ordination, management, and development of strategic insurer relationships. The individual will work closely with the broking business to achieve closer alignment between Howden Ireland’s insurer partners and the business. The individual will be responsible for delivering engagement and insight services for Howden Ireland’s insurer partners in order to identify opportunities for mutual success.Key ResponsibilitiesHelps to shape business strategy by understanding its insurer partners current & emerging needs and advising on how Howden can help address them.Supports delivery of Howden Ireland’s insurer management and placement objectives (e.g., insurer partnership delivery, portfolio solutions etc).Supports Howden Ireland in the development and execution of its high-level insurer management strategy.Delivers assigned tasks and also contributes to other projects and initiatives, as required.Provides relevant management information to the Line Manager, as required.Ability to articulate Howden Ireland and Group strategy across the business.Helps achieve close strategic alignment between insurer partners and the business.Understanding of business objectives regarding placement and portfolio strategy.Leads the delivery of services to strategic partner insurers (e.g. insurer engagement and provision of management information).Skilled at data analysis and processing functions, such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Keeps insurers informed, acting as a point of contact for queries to help ensure efficient and effective relationship management.Assists with outlining solutions to challenges and making recommendations.Identifies risks, highlighting these to relevant parties in good time.Remains aware of the market landscape (e.g. competitors, potential changes/risks, industry standards, new opportunities etc).Keeps informed of all relevant legal and regulatory developments.Follows the company processes and procedures.Develops strong relationships with Business Units within Howden Ireland and external stakeholders.Coordinates, manages, and develops insurer partner relationships to ensure delivery meets expectations and is compliant.Acts as a point of contact for insurer requirements, issues, and queries.Facilitates smooth communication between various parties within the business.Assists with insurer issues relating to account management and escalates them to Line Manager if needed.Maintains and grows insurer relationships to support future opportunities.Shares information that could be beneficial to Howden Ireland.Attends external seminars, forums, and events where necessary, to positively represent Howden Ireland and increase own knowledge and understanding of changing needs and market trends.Acts as a role model by demonstrating a positive attitude and promoting continuous improvement.Displays and instils a positive, highly collaborative and customer-centric culture.Actively undertakes personal development.Person Specification Highly organised, with good planning, prioritisation, and time management skills.Excellent attention to detail.Enterprising: able to spot opportunities.Broad vision: sees connections and big picture.Customer-focused approach.Strong inter-personal skills.Consultative and collaborative nature.Ability to manage expectations and able to deliver both good and bad news to stakeholders.Excellent listening and communication skills.Highly proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint.Qualifications and experience5+ years insurance industry experience.CIP Qualified.Understanding of insurance industry and insurer landscape (desirable, but not essential).Educated to third level degree standard (desirable, but not essential).What do we offer in return?A career that you define.
