Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Disability Services (Longford)
Our client is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Disability Services in Longford. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced OT to work within a dynamic team, providing specialised interventions to adults with disabilities to promote independence and enhance their quality of life.
Role Overview
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will assess and implement rehabilitation and support plans that enable individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with service users, families, and a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Occupational Therapist:
1. Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop tailored intervention plans.
2. Support adults with disabilities in improving their daily living skills, mobility, and functional independence.
3. Provide specialist advice on assistive technology, seating assessments, home adaptations, and environmental modifications.
4. Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, and nursing staff to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
5. Lead and participate in service development initiatives to enhance therapy services.
6. Supervise and mentor junior OTs, OT assistants, and students.
7. Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HSE policies and professional guidelines.
Essential Criteria for the Senior Occupational Therapist:
1. Degree in Occupational Therapy and CORU registration.
2. Three years post-qualification experience, including experience working with adults with disabilities.
3. Strong knowledge of assistive technology, sensory integration, and functional rehabilitation.
4. Experience working in multi-disciplinary and community-based settings.
5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
