The Pharmacist role is responsible for optimizing patient care by promoting rational, safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. This includes drug dispensing, intravenous admixture program, and providing drug information.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process Prescriptions: Conduct prospective drug reviews on all prescriptions processed, ensuring safe and appropriate medication therapies for patients.
* Drug Information and Patient Interventions: Provide accurate and timely drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and the public, documenting interventions and outcomes related to drug therapy.
* Assist in Department Management: Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, externs, and other support personnel in daily operations, training pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in their duty areas.
* Work Environment: Contribute to the effective operation of the department through computer functions, refill medications, generation of labels, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
* Safety: Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts, maintaining an attitude that promotes and fosters a safe environment.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D)
* Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of PA at hire or sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days.
