The Grace Healthcare Group is an established and renowned group of Nursing Homes throughout Ireland. We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing for Terenure Nursing Home, Terenure, Dublin 6W, Co. Dublin, D6W PW58. This is a 47-bedded nursing home facility.
The Director of Nursing will:
Be responsible for the following in relation to residents:
1. Ensure that the provision of a high standard of care and service to the resident, and their family members/representatives, is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of Terenure Nursing Home/Grace Healthcare.
2. Promote and maintain resident safety and provide quality care through respecting the dignity, privacy, and rights of the resident.
3. Ensure all staff are aware that Terenure Nursing Home is operated in a manner that respects the age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religious beliefs, and ethnic and cultural background of each resident.
4. Develop relationships with residents, which facilitates resident autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making.
5. Encourage recognition of the resident as an individual; ensuring residents’ rights, needs, and comfort are given priority during the provision of care.
6. Oversee the delivery of resident care together with all members of the multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
Essential:
1. A registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
2. Post-registration qualification in nursing people with dementia.
3. Evidence of continuous professional development.
4. A post-registration management qualification in health or a related field.
Desirable:
1. Post Graduate diploma in Gerontology.
2. Management qualifications.
3. Gerontology experience.
4. IT skills.
Experience:
Essential:
1. Minimum three years post-graduate experience with a minimum of two years' experience in Care of the Older Person within the previous 6 years.
2. Have not less than 3 years' experience in a management capacity in the health and social area.
Desirable:
1. Have an in-depth knowledge of the ageing process.
