Our client, a well known civil contractor responsible for the upgrade of wastewater plants across the country, requires a Health Safety Quality Environmental (HSQE) Engineer with civils/wastewater experience to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate would initially be working on a wastewater treatment plant upgrade near Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and standards; maintain the legal register.
* Implement HSQE management procedures and review Construction Health and Safety Plans.
* Oversee Site Construction Stage Environmental Management Plan and Site Quality Management Plan on the BIM platform.
* Conduct Site Inductions and update records for the HSQE management system.
* Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Subcontractor’s RAMS.
* Record HSQE statistics and provide monthly reports.
* Coordinate and document Site Health and Safety meetings.
* Support accident investigations and maintain proper records.
* Report breaches of health and safety regulations to the Project Manager.
* Document health and safety meetings and action plans.
* Conduct training, including toolbox talks.
* Maintain relationships with internal departments and external bodies.
* Procure site services and equipment.
* Prepare site handover documentation.
Skills:
* 3rd Level qualification in Engineering / Safety management
* Experience would be preferable to include Civils and/or Wastewater Treatment
* 3 or more years on-site experience.
* Previous experience in design and build of water or wastewater projects.
* Possess a positive and pro-active approach to working in a team environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Client facing experience.
* Experience would be desirable with MS Project, P6 and BIM 360
Additional Requirements:
* Full clean driving licence
* Site Safety Management accreditations
