Overview
Position: Workshop SupervisorLocation: IrelandCompany: Swissport About the Role: As a Workshop Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Workshop Manager with the daily management of the maintenance workshop. Your leadership will inspire the team to uphold high engineering standards, ensuring the provision of safe, reliable, and fit-for-purpose Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for Swissport’s ramp operations.
Responsibilities
Lead the team in delivering daily maintenance operations to consistently high standards.Prioritize safety in all activities and lead by example.Assist in managing staff, including recruitment, training, coaching, absence management, disciplinaries, and professional development.Drive continuous improvement and quality control measures to meet service levels and optimize delivery against KPIs.Manage spares inventory and budgetary control, including ordering parts, oils, lubricants, and consumables.Utilize the Swissport Fleet Management System to create and complete work orders, raise purchase orders, capture costs, and maintain accurate asset information.Plan resources and capacity effectively to optimize workflow through the maintenance workshop.Ensure compliance with Swissport, airport, and customer global and local standards and policies.Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers.Assist technicians in problem diagnostics and provide technical support for GSE troubleshooting and fault assessment.Manage post-incident investigations, root cause analysis, and remedial action plans.Complete all maintenance documentation in line with airline, airport, CAA, and Swissport requirements.Ensure compliance with all airport authority, CAA, airline, and Swissport security requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidate Requirements:Experience in engineering maintenance operations, preferably in a workshop environment.Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations for maintenance operations.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example, motivate, and develop team members.Knowledge of continuous improvement methods such as LEAN 5S/6S principles.Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.Proven track record of delivering against SLAs and KPIs.Knowledge of fleet asset maintenance programs (e.g., Maximo/IMS-Fleet Maintenance Pro).Strong analytical skills and an inquiring mindset.Confident and effective communicator (written and verbal).Working knowledge of Ground Support Equipment, HGV, plant, and forklifts (desirable).Experience working in a unionized workshop (desirable).Ability to travel when required.A full valid EU driving license.Join Swissport and be part of a team that values safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
