Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Social Studies teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, with a focus on Properly Placed: Social Studies (RX). Preferred qualifications include additional endorsements such as Health/PE (MC), World Language (FA-FS), Science (DX), and Math (EX).
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs.
* Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver effective curriculum.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth.
* Communicate effectively with parents, staff members, and students to ensure seamless communication.
* Stay up-to-date with best practices in education and integrate technology into instruction.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
* Adhere to school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
Requirements
* Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
* Properly Placed: Social Studies (RX) certification.
* Preferred: Additional endorsements such as Health/PE (MC), World Language (FA-FS), Science (DX), and Math (EX).
* Working knowledge of best practice strategies.
* Ability to collect and analyze data to assess student achievement.
* Ability to provide differentiated instruction for students.
* Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff members, and students.
* Ability to provide and maintain an orderly classroom environment.
* Availability to work a flexible schedule is a must.
* Experience with small group and individualized instruction.
* Experience in learning lab setting with adult learners preferred.
* CPI Certified, or willingness to obtain.
* Strong demonstrated Technical Skills including Keyboarding, internet, and email.
* Experience with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
* Google applications including Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
* Familiarity with student information systems.
* Pass background check.
