With that in mind, RTÉ is seeking to recruit a Content Creator to work within The Lab production unit.
RTÉ established The Lab in 2019 to produce and commission premium short form original video content for RTÉ Player and RTÉ Video channels, focusing on content for the core target audience of 18 – 35 year olds.
We are looking for a talented, ambitious, and creative individual who inherently understands digital content and has original ideas for new formats with new faces/creators.
Working as an integral part of the team, you will ideate and develop new content ideas and formats for RTÉ Player and RTÉ Video/TV Channels and then manage the production end-to-end.
You are a highly creative team player who understands and can adhere to RTÉ's Journalism and Content guidelines.
Candidates will be expected to have some knowledge of RTÉ's TV and Video channels and digital content output, specifically RTÉ Player's content offering.
Main responsibilities: Ideate and brainstorm new formats and new faces/creators and be comfortable running an end-to-end video production including shooting or directing high quality video and editing to deliver broadcast quality original series for RTÉ Player and RTÉ Video platforms.Ensure your content and ideas aligns with The Lab's remit to produce and commission content that reflects young, diverse audiences (18-35s).Keep up to date with emerging industry and online content trends, particularly social media trends and what audiences are watching on streaming services.Manage production budgets, create running orders, write presenter scripts.Manage production teams and presenters/contributors while in production.Be a team player and work creatively and collaboratively with others.Meet deadlines and plan out workload accordingly.Have a passion for streaming, digital content and social media.Successful candidates will have:Experience directing/producing and some editing is required – please include a URL link to one piece of video content as an example of your previous work. Please include the URL link in your cover letter, with a short description of the content.Excellent storytelling capabilities with good editorial judgement.Proficient in Adobe Premier Pro.Has original content ideas and a creative flair.Advanced understanding of social media content, channels, and ways to interact with audiences online.The ability to pitch ideas and present production plans.Experience working in a collaborative and creative industry.An understanding of RTÉ's content offering, online products and of Public Service Broadcasting.A relevant degree or equivalent experience.
This appointment will be offered on a full-time ongoing contract basis on the Multimedia Coordinator salary scale, from €46,140 to €60,259 gross per annum.
