Scope of the Role
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the initiative and skills to manage workload to meet necessary deadlines.
Excellent time management, prioritising, and communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
1. As part of an established team of Mechanical & Electrical professionals, the successful candidate will be involved in the production of competitive tenders/detailed estimates for pre-design or D&B projects.
2. Advising managers of bid prospects.
3. Attending pre & post tender interviews.
4. Complying specialist sub-contract quotes.
5. Ensuring sub-contractor quotes comply with specification.
6. Completing take-offs from tender drawings.
7. Report regularly to management on competitor activity, market trends and any other market dynamics that may be useful to management.
Qualifications and Key Criteria
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Understand methods of measurement and the concept of cost/valuation reconciliations.
Computer literacy in relevant Estimating packages, MS Office, and Take-Off Software.
Good working knowledge of Electrical work packages.
Strong analytical ability.
Desirable Skills
A previous Trade or Engineering background.
A Third Level Qualification in Quantity Surveying and/or Electrical Engineering.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
