Financial Accounting Manager
Our client, a multi-national FMCG based in Dublin 24, are looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join their team.
In this role, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information. You will maintain an environment of good corporate governance and controls by monitoring existing processes and controls and ensuring compliance with same, adapting, creating or updating existing policy frameworks to support changes in the organisation or in response to legislation and identifying new potential risk areas and providing suggestions to mitigate same.
Additionally, you will work with the shared service centre and local finance team to review and approve financial transactions, reporting packages and address and support any queries arising as well as oversee the external and internal audits and support the annual planning cycles and year end management to achieve business goals. Periodically work cross functionally with the wider business on new value add propositions and global projects.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis.
The Role:
* Monitor the completion and documentation of all financial controls assigned across the business
* Ensure documentation is adequate for future internal audits
* Hold regular training with control owners to remind them of their obligations and best practices
* Develop and maintain an online SharePoint library and increase awareness and understanding of local and global policies
* Coordinate and plan for the annual walkthrough and test of all controls and present details of results to board of directors
* Organise and ensure a smooth bi-annual inventory count and reconciliation at 3PL warehouse
* Ensure all financial information is recorded correctly in all 3 ledgers (1. Group reporting – IFRS, 2. Statutory local financials – Irish GAAP & 3. Tax Ledger – CT return) and necessary reconciliations are up to date
* Proactively work with stakeholders to anticipate and prepare for audit requests and key focus areas ensuring all supporting documentation is prepared in advance and sufficient to address the audit team’s needs
* Prepare the annual financial statements and present them to the board of directors.
* Ensure a smooth and timely audit completion in line with group and local deadlines and a regular clean audit report
* Review and approve a range of financial transactions on a periodic basis:
o Banking payments / Journals / intercompany postings
o Monthly reconciliations of Key account balances
o Quarterly reporting packages required by HQ
o Updates to pricing and Master data changes in SAP
* Prepare the below OCC planning inputs for each planning cycle (June/OCT LE & ASP)
* Work with the FCF and FP&A teams to understand their respective monthly processes and planning responsibilities and assist with these as and when required, in particular during busy periods, or to provide adequate cover and support during periods of absence or leave
The Person:
* Appropriate accounting certification, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
* At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in finance, preferably in a multinational organisation with exposure to senior management
* Experience with different accounting standards (Irish GAAP & IFRS), financial controls and managing external and internal audits
* Direct audit experience in a professional firm and/or understanding of FMCG industry is desirable, but not essential
* Excellent PC skills (MS Office), working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) desirable but not essential
* A team player with an ability to communicate openly, work effectively in a diverse team and build relationships with key stakeholders
* Values high-quality standards, proactive in finding solutions and able to work effectively under pressure to handle multiple tasks
* Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills
* Excellent command in English
