Highfield Healthcare is thrilled to announce the opening for an enthusiastic and dynamic Peer Support Worker to join our Team.
The Peer Support Worker will be a full and integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team, providing formalised peer support and practical assistance to people using our services and their supporters (families/carers) in helping them to regain control over their lives and their own unique Recovery Journey.
The Peer Support Worker will use their expertise gained through lived experience to inspire hope and recovery as per the ‘National Framework for Recovery in Mental Health’. They will facilitate and support information sharing to promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for connection with local communities and may link with other developments through a range of integrated and community-based support programmes.
As a member of the Multidisciplinary Team, the Peer Support Worker will work alongside people using our services on a one to one and/or group basis. They will work under the supervision of line management.
The Peer Support Worker will take an active role in promoting recovery values within the service in which they work and act as a champion for ‘Recovery for Highfield Healthcare’ internally.
All applicants will be required to have:
* Personal experience of mental health difficulties including insight into the recovery process
* Experience of working with people with mental health needs
* Hold a Certificate in Peer Support Working in Mental Health. This course is delivered by Dublin City University (DCU). CAO code = DC762. This course is a single module with no corresponding NFQ award. This course is of 1-year duration and is part-time.
