**Company Accountant Job Description**
Our client, a growing company in the construction industry based in Waterford, is seeking an experienced Company Accountant to manage their finance function and play a critical role in the company's ongoing success.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis. They will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly management accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, administering payroll, and ensuring full tax compliance.
This is a permanent position with some hybrid working options available. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior management to optimize business performance and risk management.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, oversee financial planning, and manage annual audits.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, subcontractor payments, and aged creditor reviews.
* Administer payroll, pensions, employee benefits, and maintain accurate records of holidays and overtime.
* Ensure full tax compliance, including RCT, PAYE, and VAT returns, while liaising with relevant authorities.
* Supervise IT systems, vendor relationships, and procurement of office and financial software.
* Oversee fleet and equipment management, ensuring tax, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
* Ensure compliance with employment laws, health & safety standards, and financial regulations.
* Provide financial insights to senior management to optimize business performance and risk management.
Requirements:
* Professional Accounting Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent preferred.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
* Industry Experience: Experience in construction or a related industry is an advantage.
* Taxation Knowledge: Strong knowledge of taxation laws and regulatory compliance.
* Skills: Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis. Strong communication skills to convey financial insights effectively. Problem-solving ability and proactive financial risk management.
