Controls/Automation Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls/Automation Technician to join our team at a leading medical device multinational client in Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of PLCs, HMI, and Scada systems.
About the Job:
* Shift work: Monday to Wednesday 6am-6pm for 4 weeks, alternating with Thursday to Saturday 6am-6pm for 4 weeks.
* Salary: Competitive package including shift premium.

Reason for These Roles:
Due to continued expansion and a site-wide drive for automation of existing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Effective completion and ongoing review of planned equipment maintenance routines.
2. Ensure all executed maintenance activities are recorded on PEMAC maintenance system.
3. Minimise downtime on Equipment, through fast response, effective root cause analysis and good problem-solving techniques.
4. Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems.
5. Take lead on Identification, quantification, implementation and presentation of equipment continuous improvement projects.
6. Co-ordinate and communicate high-impacting equipment / safety issues.
Key Requirements:
* Highly proficient in Allen Bradley PLCs, Electrical (including high voltage), PC software & hardware, Parker motion control and vacuum systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication/presentation skills.
* Ability to work on own with minimum supervision.
* A proven history of controls systems debug & upgrade work.
* Very strong manufacturing equipment electrical troubleshooting experience.
* Strong PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley, going online, stepping through code, etc).
* Strong automation experience (motion control, vision systems, robotics, mechanical, etc).
* PC hardware/software troubleshooting experience would be advantageous.
* Good knowledge of electronics and software-controlled systems.
