Job Description
An experienced Assistant Accountant is required to support the Company Accountant in managing financial processes and running daily company accounts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be proficient in software and Microsoft Office Suite, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, processing invoices and payments, generating customer invoices, reconciliations, maintaining general ledger, reviewing expense claims, and providing financial information for budgeting and forecasting.
The role also involves statutory reporting, supporting annual audits, and ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements include 3+ years of experience in a similar role, part-qualified accountant or Qualified Accounts Technician, proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Process supplier invoices, perform vendor reconciliations, and ensure timely payments
* Generate customer invoices, monitor receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts
* Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash records
* Maintain accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software and spreadsheets
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial information and analysis
* Statutory reporting - VAT, VIES, Intrastat, PAYE etc
* Support annual audits
* Support Payroll on a monthly basis
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in a similar Assistant Accountant / Senior Accounts Assistant role
* Part qualified accountant or Qualified Accounts Technician
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
