About this Role:
Provide leadership and direction for all business operations to achieve continuously improving results in the areas of quality, cost, service, and safety.
The successful candidate will oversee Plant Operations which include People, Production, Warehousing, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Materials Management, Safety, Supply Chain.
Key responsibilities: Ensure workplace culture, structures and resources support achievement of Company Business Plans and customer service commitments, including maintaining a safe work environment by driving safety improvements, best practice through regular safety meetings, safety walks and leading by example, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation for the site.
Ongoing performance management and development of all employees is crucial to ensure consistency with current and future human resource requirements. The Site must operate within the guidelines of the Company Policies and Procedures and Legislation requirements with regards to risk and environmental management.
Quality Operations are paramount in providing necessary resources, procedures, training, and controls to ensure adherence to Company Standards and third-party food safety and quality standards in terms of GMP; chemical control; sanitation control; HACCP; allergen control; non-conforming products; product trace/recall; customer/consumer response. Establishing and maintaining reporting mechanisms which provide analysis of Quality Performance is essential.
Additionally, responsible for the Site HACCP Team, managing and overseeing all quality control and quality assurance functions from end-to-end process. This includes ensuring manufacturing and products adhere to up-to-date legislative & regulatory requirements, maintaining Quality Management Systems and HACCP system adhering to Company manufacturing standards, Food safety & Quality system standards, and reviewing and reporting KPIs to management on a weekly/monthly basis, analysing trends, investigating any KPI failure and developing & implementing corrective actions. Also responsible for investigation of non-conformance, deviation, customer complaints and ensuring the corrective/preventive action effectively in place.
Active participation in preparation and organising site for all audits, ensuring resolution of previous actions through cross-function teams including participating in other site system implementation Manufacturing Performance requires direct supervision and support of the manufacturing team, being hands-on and close to detail, responsibility for engineering to ensure optimal equipment performance, owning PM and engineering stocking requirements, owning the manufacturing budget; examining variances and exercising financial control to ensure manufacturing activities operate at minimum cost.
Oversee operational systems to ensure cost-effective production within quality specifications, overseeing production schedules, ensuring operations are at maximum efficiency within budgeted costs and meeting quality and delivery objectives. Review developments in manufacturing operations and make recommendations relating to systems and capital expenditure planning.
Business Performance Reporting involves establishing and maintaining reporting mechanisms which provide analysis of: Manufacturing costs, Production efficiency, Inventory performance at site level, Customer Service Performance and Supply Chain: Demand planning and material call-off ownership to ensure customer service levels are met and limiting the risk of stock write-offs due to obsolescence.
Responsible for weekly production schedule and staff plan, implementing controls and procedures to ensure strict adherence to plan (ATP), overseeing the management of the Warehousing and Inventory Control Processes for the Manufacturing Site, owning 3rd Party (3 PL) Warehousing Management and Distribution/Logistics and ensuring all activities involved in the receipt and storage of raw materials and the storage and freighting of finished goods is cost-efficient and effective in meeting customers needs.
